NBCA 25 Year Service Medal:
- This award was instituted in 1998 and is available from all State Governing Bodies.
- The award recognises 25 years service by an individual to a band or bands in any state of Australia.
- Application should be made to the State Governing Body in your state and include a brief history of the person's service and an application fee of $30.00.

NBCA Meritorious Service Award:
- This award was instituted in 2023 and recognises the special or long-term service to community banding in Australia.
- Each State Governing Body is allocated one nomination per calendar year.
- Nominations must be made on the official nomination form which can be downloaded here.
- It is up to that State Governing Body to determine the method of selection for its nominee.
- Nominations must be made available to the NBCA committee twenty one (21) days prior to the November conference.
- The NBCA Executive are allocated one nomination with the same requirements imposed as for nominations from State Governing Bodies.
- The NBCA reserves the right to seek additional information or to veto a nomination, whether it was made by a State Governing Body or by the Executive.
- Nominees should if nominated by a State Governing Body, be nominated by the State Governing Body in which the majority, main, or extraordinary service took place.
- Nominees must have evidence of distinguished, special or long-term service, resulting in a significant contribution, to banding in Australia through a band or organisation registered with a State Governing Body.
- A photo of the nominee must be provided that can be used for media purposes by the NBCA, State Governing Bodies and other affiliated or associated entities.
- There is no expectation that nominees are or were active musicians (playing members) of bands registered with State Governing Bodies.
- There is no expectation that nominees be aware of their nomination. This is at the discretion of the nominator.
- Up to seven (7) awards will be presented each calendar year.
- The award will take the form of a certificate. At the discretion of the NBCA a physical memento may also be presented.
- Awardees will be added to the NBCA’s digital Honour Roll.
- Awards are to be presented at the next scheduled Australian National Band Championships, in a manner that allows maximum public appreciation of the Award and the awardees. If an awardee is not in attendance, the award will still be announced at that time.
- The NBCA reserves the right to terminate, postpone or cancel an award if it considers it appropriate to do so. Reasons for termination could include conviction of a crime or offence, behaviour or actions in a manner that has bought disrepute on the NBCA or community music making, or, that the grounds on which the award was made was based on false or misleading material.
NBCA Life Membership:
- NBCA Life membership is the highest award the NBCA can confer on a person.
- The award is bestowed for outstanding service to the NBCA, and is awarded by a majority vote at an Annual General Meeting.
- Nominations can be forwarded to the NBCA Executive Officer through your State Governing Body.
- Nominations should include an account of the person's service to the NBCA.
